Why
should we help ICCRS

friends of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal,
ICCRS
is in a serious financial difficulty… we need your help. |

ICCRS
exists to serve the worldwide Renewal in all of its various streams
and expressions. We believe that its existence positioned as it
is within the Vatican, is crucial for the worldwide Renewal and
must be preserved at all costs. It would be tragic if through some
inability of ICCRS to meet its financial commitments it would lose
its present address in the Vatican. We think that such an occurrence
would seriously diminish the effectiveness of the worldwide Charismatic
Renewal within the Catholic Church. Fr. Burt Pastor, past Council
member, wrote in a recent article:
«
Recently I heard some negative remarks from persons in the Charismatic
Renewal about the National Service Committee: “Why give our
annual contribution to the National Service Committee? What has
the NSC done for us? We don't really need the NSC”. It is
saddening when we hear such observations from people who are involved
in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. It is sad, because it shows
a selfish spirit, a spirit that is self cantered in seeking its
own good, without considering the good and the needs of others ahead
of one's own... Such remarks are also true today with regard to
ICCRS. Why be involved with ICCRS? Why give our annual contribution
in support of its mandate and service?
To
paraphrase President Kennedy's famous words: “Ask not what
ICCRS can do for you, but ask what you can do for ICCRS”.
Because we have received so much through CCR, the gratitude that
spontaneously wells from our hearts should not only be prayer of
thanksgiving but also acts of thanksgiving that are translated into
material or material or financial thanksgiving offering.
What
we offer in monetary consideration will be used for the projects
of ICCRS, (among those the international events forecast for
Pentecost with the Pope in Rome in
2006) “No one is too poor as to have nothing to give;
no one is too rich as to have nothing to receive”, is a saying
that is true in this vital matter of supporting ICCRS! »

We are asking you sincerely to pray strongly for
ICCRS and for its work for the world-wide Renewal and to send us your
generous financial help. A practical note: if all the National Service
Committees, the other groups, communities and CCR generous brothers throughout
the world served by ICCRS would contribute regularly, even a token, we
could solve our financial problems. With heartfelt confidence we appeal
to you, and we commend this special need to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
