ICCRS Leadership-Training-Course held in Europe for the first time

Fifty participants from Slovenia and Croatia (and even one from Ecuador) took part at ICCRS Leadership training course from 15th till 22nd of November 2015 in the “House St. Josef” in Celje,  Slovenia, among them eight priests and many young leaders.

The program was a mixture of lectures, prayer times, small-groups, Eucharistic celebrations, practical workshops and fellowship.

The topics of the teachings included: elements of a CCR-group, basics of leadership, the life of a leader, mission and evangelisation, ecclesiology and CCR-history. The teachings were given by James Murphy (USA), who is functioning as director of the ICCRS Formation Institute, ICCRS-President Michelle Moran and Christof Hemberger (Germany), member of ICCRS Council, responsible for Northern and Western Europe.

On Wednesday the whole group went on pilgrimage to get to learn about the local Christian historical places, so we visited Teharje - place of mass graves from the period immediately after the Second World War and Ponikva – birth place of Slovenians first blessed Anton Martin Slomšek. In Slovenia the LTC ended on Sunday 22nd of November with an open rally in Celje.

According to participants, the lectures were very interesting, all the contents were useful for their work in the future, to build up leaders. At the end of the course we heard many personal and profound testimonials.

“Take strength from the grace which is in Christ Jesus. Pass on to reliable people what you have heard from me through many witnesses, so that they in turn will be able to teach others.”

2 Tim 2:1-2

The ICCRS Leadership Training Course is for people of all ages, from charismatic organisations worldwide who want to spend some time of their lives being formed in leadership within the CCR.

In partnership with local Charismatic realities, ICCRS provides this week–long programme that will call and empower new leaders as well as strengthen and encourage current ones.

The programme includes daily Mass, Eucharist Adoration and a time of Charismatic Praise and Worship. The teachings cover: the foundations and vision of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (Ecclesiology, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, the Histoy of the CCR, a Theology of Mission); and practical help and ideas for ministry (elements of a prayer meeting, basic techniques for evangelisation, the life of leaders). There is also time for reflection, sharing and ministry.

People of all ages from the host country or nearby are invited to participate!

The course will be held primarily in English and Slovenian.
