REPORT

“As for you, my dear son, take strength from the grace which is in Christ Jesus.
Pass on to reliable people what you have heard from me through many witnesses so that they in turn will be able to teach others” 2 Tm 2:1-2.

International Leadership Training Course organized by the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS), in cooperation with the Polish National Coordinators Team of Catholic Charismatic Renewal, through the efforts of Father Wojciech Nowacki, was held from 6 to 13 August at the Major Seminary in Lomza. It was attended by 110 people from 8 countries: Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Latvia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Poland. The course was led by James Murphy - the director of formation, Michelle Moran - President of ICCRS and Deacon Christof Hemberger - a member of ICCRS.

The course was very intensive and demanding. Every day there were 4 blocks teaching such subjects as ecclesiology, the history of Church, the prayer of praise, theology of mission, the life of a leader and history and identity of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. During common prayers, worship and time spent together, the Lord stirred up our hearts to unity and inflamed us with his love.

What most touched the hearts, was realizing the need for a clear vision, without which the members of any charismatic community will fall into confusion. We need to know what kind of community we want to be and where we are going. The lecturers often referred to the teaching of Pope Francis, who described the Charismatic Renewal as a "stream of grace for the Church and the world," and during a retreat for priests in Rome 2015 asked to organize seminars of the life in the Holy Spirit in every parish. The teachers emphasized the importance of the pontificate of Pope Francis for the Renewal, recalling his personal involvement in the times of the Episcopal ministry in Argentina.

The participants deepened the importance of their identity as a Catholic and charismatic Renewal, which is the movement of the Spirit, a stream of grace given to the Church to revitalize all dimensions of its life. It was very important to re- realize that the Renewal is not an institution or a movement like all the others, because there is no a human founder. It was initiated by the Holy Spirit at the same time in many places in the world and in many Christian churches.

The Charismatic Renewal, as a stream of grace, is a precious gift to the Church. Today, knowing more and looking further, we want to share this grace wherever we will be sent. We want to share our experience gained during the course and the truth about the encounter with the living Jesus with our communities and with all those whom the Lord will put on our way.
