What does ICCRS do? Communicates ICCRS keeps in contact with Catholic Charismatic Renewal Leaders worldwide. ICCRS meets regularly with the Holy See to obtain indications and consultations while keeping them updated on the growth within the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal. ICCRS visits the various Catholic Charismatic Renewal centres and its leaders worldwide, promoting the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. ICCRS publishes a bimonthly Newsletter in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. It contains news, testimonies and advertisements.
Calls Since 1973 ICCRS has been regularly organising international conferences for leaders: as of today nine have been held; the event in Assisi took the form of a retreat preached by Father Raniero Cantalamessa, ofm, capp. ICCRS supports the initiatives tied to the carrying out of national and international conferences, such as, the Asian Leaders Conferences, the International Dialogues of the Ecclesiastical Movements, Youth Events and Ecumenical Initiatives.
Sustains ICCRS, whenever possible, offers financial aid to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Centres of developing countries. ICCRS financially supports delegates coming from developing countries on the occasion of the conferences organised by ICCRS itself.
And also... ICCRS, with recognition of the Vatican by the Pontifical Council for the Laity on 14 September 1993, has its office in Rome and operates as an information and communication centre serving the Catholic Charismatic Renewal worldwide as well as also being the link between the Renewal and the Vatican. ICCRS encourages the pastoral and theological solidity of the various groups belonging to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal arising from a personal experience of Pentecost known as the Baptism in the Spirit. There are about 100 million Catholics who have lived this experience and who ICCRS have aimed at serving for the past 20 years.
In what way does ICCRS operate? The ICCRS Council is composed of a President (currently Mr. Allan Panozza from Australia, a Vice-president (currently Mrs. Cathy Brenti from France) and members (as of today 14) who represent ICCRS in the 5 continents and in different types of ministries and communities. The Council is composed of lay people, priests and religious. The ICCRS Office, with site in Rome, has its own staff (the current Director is Mr. Oreste Pesare from Italy), who coordinates the carrying out of the decisions adopted by the Council. ICCRS requests and receives donations from the National Service Committees, the Diocesan Committees as well as private ones. Other financial aids are given by charitable organisations.
What can you do? For this is what the Lord commanded us to do when he said: "I have made you a light for the nations, so that my salvation may reach the ends of the earth" (Acts 13, 47). You can also help ICCRS to proceed with its mission: - First of all you can pray for ICCRS work. - You can subscribe to the Newsletter, which witnesses the effect of its ministry worldwide. - You can communicate your experiences that may be useful to others or you can suggest the way in which ICCRS can be useful to you. - You can sustain ICCRS financially by sending a private contribution or sending one through the National Service Committee, or through the diocesan team.
